Want to Play?

We are always looking for new players interested in trying Gaelic football.  Below are some answers to a few questions:

Download the 2010 Registration!

How much does this cost?  There is no cost to come out and try the sport.  Dues for the entire year are $40 individual, $60 for a family membership (includes all immediate family.)  Dues entitle you to play in our local league as well as the travel team if you desire.  Travel players will also be expected to purchase shorts and socks.

What all do I need?  A pair of cleats will help but other then yourself, we require nothing special!

How old (or young) do I have to be?  We currently allow players as young as 14 with parental permission.  We allow our younger players to participate in friendly matches but unfortunately, the national organization prevents them from playing with the big lads in the national tournament.  We would like to put together a U18 side especially for that.  We also have players in their 40's so there is no upper limit.  We try to match people up with like size and speed as much as possible.

Is this for guys only?  Absolutely not!  We are actively working on a separate ladies team but we do have ladies who play with the guys and we try to match ladies with ladies during scrimmage or contested drills.

I don't have an Irish bone in my body, can I play?  We welcome people with any ancestry or from any background!

Can I get hurt?  Gaelic football IS a contact sport, injuries can happen.  However, this isn't rugby so major injuries are not common.

What is expected of me if I join?  Make it to as many practice sessions as you can.  We will be playing some matches on the road and we obviously like for as many people to travel with us as possible but we understand that sometimes not everyone can make it.  Also, we expect you to stick it out through the beginner period so you can't actually get a chance to play the game, we think you'll be hooked after that!

Sounds great! How do I join?  Just email the club chairman John Wooldridge or the team manager Rory O'Brien

Not in Little Rock but want to play? We have heard from interested people in  Jonesboro, Camden, and Russellville.  We are in the process in working with people in these areas to establish small organizations locally.  Coaching experience is available from Little Rock GAA to come and help train players in these and other areas.  We would like to evenutally be able to establish a statewide organization of clubs playing 5 or 7 aside matches.  Please contact us and we will help!!  Don't be shy!

Anyone is welcome to come out and play the fast paced sport of Gaelic football with us.  No experience is necessary you don't need to be Irish to play!  Contact chairman for more details:
